TRILER Jan

TRILER Jan (10 September 2003) is a composer, pianist and conductor, who after completing the Diocesan Classical Gymnasium and and the Conservatory of Music and Ballet attends the 1st year of composition and musical studies  at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana in the class of prof. Dušan Bavdek. In 4 years of writing, his opus includes over 40 choral compositions for mixed, male and female choruses (Slovenian mass in honor of St. Stanislaus for mixed choir SATB and organ, cycle of own texts-sonnets Second side for mixed choir SATBdiv. ..., 5 romantic compositions for mixed SATB choir to texts by Dragotin Kette Morda na veke), performed by the best Slovenians ensembles such as the Slovenian Octet, KGBL Chamber Choir, APZ Tone Tomšič...

Most of his instrumental music are piano pieces (Namigi suite), but he also writes for other instruments (wind quintet Echoes from the mountains, Spring suite for 2 violins and piano...). He is also the winner of the Škerjanec Award of the Ljubljana Music and Ballet Conservatory awards at composition and music-theory competitions at home (3rd place and recognition for promising young composer for the composition Na obzorju at the 2nd choral competition of the composition MePZ Obala Koper, 3rd place for the composition A where have you seen at the competition Gifts of tradition in to the APZ organization Tone Tomšič, recommended song at the Psalm-us competition in the organization Vocal Academy Ljubljana...) and abroad (gold award at the Caneres online competition, victory in 2 categories and the highest number of points in the 5th World championship and composition.. performed by the Franz Schubert Conservatory in Vienna)

At the end of April 2023 he will be as one of 6 young choral composers from around the world, an active participant in the first masterclass in composition at WSCM 2023 (World Symposium for Choral Music) in Istanbul, Turkey, which will be led by the renowned Japanese composer and conductor Ko Matsushita. Jan Triler is the choirmaster of the Alis Chamber Choir, the artistic director of the BLU Vocal Group and an active singer in the best Slovenian choirs, such as the Megaron Chamber Choir, KGBL Chamber Choir, Mixed Choir of the Academy of Music...
