PIRNAT Tomaž
Tomaž Pirnat (born 1973, Domžale, SLovenia) graduated from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. He also studied at the College of Music and Performing Arts in Graz with prof. Johannes Prinz.
He acted as the conductor of the Mixed Choir Groblje and the Domžale Chamber Choir. As the choir conductor of the RTV Slovenia Youth Choir, he prepared many first performances of compositions by contemporary composers, such as. performance of the Cantata for High Voices and Orchestra Ambroz Čopija Od sanj modro nebo / The Blue Sky of the Dreams (2017), cycle of 11 selected songs by dr. Benjamin Ipavec Pesem, polna hrepenenja / A Song Full of Longing by Andrej Makor for high voices and piano (2018) and Gasper Jereb's cantata Magnum mysterium for high voices and harp (2012).
He also directs the Limbar Chamber Choir from Moravče, Slovenia, where he now lives - with which he reaps accolades on domestic and foreign stages. He also collaborates with the Gloria Vocal Group and many other groups and choirs.
He is employed at the Domžale School of Music, where he works as a teacher of Music Theory and Piano, as well as a conductor of a brass band and an accompanist. He also works as a keyboardist, multi-instrumentalist and choral arranger. For many years, he has been a juror at the competions.
As a conductor, he also prepared choirs in the musicals Mamma Mia and Grease.
