HROVAT Vladimir

HROVAT Vladimir (born 20 January 1947, Zagreb, Croatia) is an academic musician and composer who began his professional musical career as a violinist, while also playing a variety of other instruments throughout his career. For more than 40 years he was a member of the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra. Since 1988 he has regularly performed on mandolin and later also on the harmonica (mouth organ), helping to establish the latter as a concert instrument. In 2013 he founded the concert ensemble of harmonicas Sorarmonica, which has achieved notable success at several international harmonica festivals around the world. He is an active composer and a member of the Society of Slovenian Composers. He writes orchestral, choral, chamber, and solo music, as well as numerous arrangements for mandolin orchestras and harmonica ensembles.
