AVSEC Vitja

AVSEC Vitja, Slovene composer, pedagogue and harmonica player (* December 9, 1970, Ljubljana) graduated in composition from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana in 1994 in the class of Dane Škerl. He works as a professor at the Ljubljana Conservatory of Music and Ballet.

He writes chamber, vocal and symphonic music; he is also active in the field of composing for the theater. He mainly dedicates himself to setting the poems of France Prešeren to music.

He wrote the opera Elektra (Sophocles), Ecstasy of Death (S. Kosovel) – cantata for choir, flute, trumpet, timpani, percussion, piano and double bass, composition GEA for symphony orchestra, Sonetni venec for mixed choir, In addition, he wrote more compositions for children's choir and music for theater and puppet shows.
