APZCS | Akademski pevski zbor Tone Tomšič University of Ljubljana Choral Series | |
The Academic Choir Tone Tomšič of the University of Ljubljana is mostly made up of students from the faculties of the University of Ljubljana who share a passion for singing and strive for top artistic excellence. The choir continues the tradition of the Academic Choir of Ljubljana, established in 1926 by France Marolt as a male choir. After the cultural black-out during the Second World War, it resumed its operations in 1946 as a mixed choir under the name the Academic Choir Tone Tomšič. The list of its conductors consists of many acclaimed names of Slovenian music: France Marolt, Radovan Gobec, Janez Bole, Lojze Lebič, Marko Munih, Igor Lavrič, Jože Fürst, Jernej Habjanič, Stojan Kuret, Urša Lah and Sebastjan Vrhovnik. Since October 2015 it has been led by Jerica Bukovec. | ||
AČCS | Ambrož Čopi Choral Series | |
Ambrož Čopi (1973) studied composition with Dane Škerl and Uroš Roko at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. He led several Slovenian choirs: Chamber Choir Nova Gorica, Mixed Choir Obala, University of Primorska Academic Choir, KGBL Chamber Choir, etc. With them, he achieved fifteen golden plaquettes at various national competitions, and twenty six first places, as well as several golden plaquettes at competitions, held abroad. He performed as a finalist at the European Grand Prix in Choral Singing in Tours (France, 2009) with theUniversity of Primorska Academic Choir. Ambrož Čopi is a teacher at the Art High School in Koper, Conservatory of Music and Ballet Ljubljana and, Associate Professor at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. He is regularly invited to act as a member of the jury at various choral events and competitions, and is often involved in choral music seminars at home and abroad as a lecturer. | ||
HFZCS | Helena Fojkar Zupančič Choral Series | |
Helena Fojkar Zupančič, a music pedagogue and an academic musician - soloist, works as a conductor and music pedagogue at the Škofijska klasična gimnazija. With the Zbor sv. Nikolaja choir and the Girls Choir of the Diocesan Classical grammar school she has received numerous awards at national and international competitions. She is considered to be one of the most celebrated Slovene choir conductors and is an esteemed lecturer at seminars for school choir conductors and church musicians. She devotes special attention to vocal techniques, clear diction and the interlacement of lyrics and music. | ||

SKCS | Stojan Kuret Choral Series | |
Stojan Kuret graduated in conducting and piano, he is Professor of Choral Practise at the Conservatory G. Verdi of Trieste. He conducted the APZ Tone Tomšič choir in Ljubljana-Slovenia with whom he won the European Grand Prix in 2002. After the experiences with the Slovenian RadioTV Chamber Choir, the Slovenian Youth Choir and Italian Youth Choir, he conducted the choir Vokalna Akademija Ljubljana, winner of the European Grand Prix in 2010. | ||
GCS | Vocal Group GALLINA Choral Series | |
The Gallina women's vocal quartet was founded in 2010 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The group devotes special attention to Slovenian (folk) music, diverse choral music from the Renaissance and modern periods, and music of the golden era of Slovenian popular song (the 1960s) as well as to foreign vocal jazz and pop compositions. Gallina encourages young composers to write new choral pieces, thus enriching the treasury of compositions for female voices. Members of the Gallina quartet are: Maša Simčič (soprano), Živa Kolenc (soprano), Ana Plemenitaš (alto) and Višnja Fičor (alto), under the artistic leadership of Ana Erčulj. |
