ACWORTH Harry Arbuthnot

ACWORTH, Harry Arbuthnot was born on March 8, 1849, and was son of late N. B. Acworth of Northaw, Hertfordshire. He studied at Brighton College, Worcester College, Oxford and entered B. Civil Service in 1870.
Has served as Assistant Collector and Magistrate under Secretary to Government and established Matunga Leper Asylum in 1890. He retired in 1896.
Acworth assisted Elgar in rewriting several scenes of Longfellow's "King Olaf" and contributed the stanzas for the solo recitatives.
Acworth died on May 19, 1933.
