MOKRIN PAUER Vida
MOKRIN PAUER Vida (January 22, 1961) graduated from the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana in 1984 with a degree in comparative literature and literary theory, and in 1985 while working at the France Bevk Gorica Library. In 1989 she went into the free poetic-writing profession. Until 2002, she was a part-time lit. editor of the magazine "Primorska srečanja". During this time, she published about 100 liters in several media. reviews of contemporary literature. She lives in Nova Gorica.
She has been publishing poetry in prominent newspapers and magazines since the age of 16. She has published ten books of poetry (3 are also for children), a large double-sided poster with poetry (also) for children and just a CD with a book of poems: Veselje: za otroke in odrasle (Joy: for children and adults) - by reading her poetry and with piano music and noise-effects. She is the co-author (with two women and a gay friend) of two satirical letter novels. Her collection Krili v kletki (Wings in a Cage) (1997), written during the wars in the former Yugoslavia, received a lot of rave reviews and was nominated for the Veronika Award, while Mladina magazine named it the best poetry event of the year. The collection of poems "Modrica" (2004) was nominated for the Jenko Award, chosen by the Slovenian Writers' Association. In 2005, a book of selected poems was published in Bulgaria with three excellent studies, a bio-bibliography and a list of lit. reviews of all books.
In the last five years, she has performed in several cities in these foreign countries: Macedonia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Italy, Austria, Slovakia. The poems have been translated into 10 foreign languages: French, English, Italian, Serbian, Macedonian, Bulgarian, Czech, German, Spanish, Slovak. It is included in several lexicons, encyclopedias and scientific discussions, and in 15 domestic and foreign literary / magazine / internet anthologies or selections of poetry by several authors.
