TRILER Janez

TRILER Janez (born 1965) lives in Dolenja vas in Selška dolina, Slovenia. During elementary school, he graduated from junior music school playing the accordion. He studied solo singing with prof. Ileana Bratuž Kacijan.

Janez has been singing since his youth. He first sang in the choirs of the primary school in Železniki, then in the MePZ Domel in Železniki and in the Mlin Quartet, and in the RTV Slovenia Radio Choir. He also performed a lot with folk music (Oberkrainer) ensembles. He was a co-founder of the ensemble "Obzorje", with whom he performed throughout Europe for sixteen years.

He still performs as a soloist and with individual vocal groups. Janez Triler writes lyrics and music for folk ensembles, which is recorded and released on cassettes and CDs. He likes to sing Slovenian folk and art songs and perform pop music while playing the accordion.

He is happy to pass on his singing and musical knowledge to his students. He has been a member of the Slovenian Octet since 1996.

Janez Triler is the father of the young composer Jan Triler (born in 2003).
