PRUS Mojca

PRUS Mojca (Kranj, Slovenia, March 24, 1982) started playing the piano at the age of five with prof. Gitta Mally. After completing elementary school and lower music school, she enrolled at the Vič High School and the Secondary School of Music in Ljubljana, where she enrolled in music courses with piano as the main subject. As a student of the Secondary School of Music, she achieved good results in many national competitions (3rd place in the national piano competition, 1st place in the piano duo competition, 1st place in the national solfeggio competition), she also attended a choral seminar in Rotterdam, as she began to compose choral music.

So she wrote her first composition in 1999, under the mentorship of her solfeggio professor Ambrož Čopi, an arrangement of the folk song Šürka je Tisa, which the Tone Tomšič Academic Choir performed at its annual concert that same year.

She soon received new commissions and thus began to cooperate with many Slovenian choirs (MePZ Viva from Brežice, MePZ Bistrica ob Sotli, MePZ Obala Koper, MePZ Nova Gorica, Chamber Choir DeProfundis, etc.) and soloists. After graduating from high school, she enrolled at the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana, while at the same time she was still improving her skills in piano lessons. As a pianist, she also collaborated with various soloists.

Currently (2024), she works primarily as a lawyer, as she also graduated from the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana in 2007.
