GPE 2010: Vokalna akademija Ljubljana won the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing In Varna, Bulgaria, on May 15, 2010 male choir Vokalna akademija Ljubljana (Vocal Academy Ljubljana) from Slovenia won the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing (GPE). Mr. Stojan Kuret, artistic director of Vokalna akademija is the first choral conductor to win two such awards (first in 2002 with APZ Tone Tomšič, Ljubljana, Slovenia), and Vokalna akademija Ljubljana (VAL) is the first male choir to be selected for the GPE and more: later awarded this prestigious award. Plus: Slovenia is the first country to have three selected choirs for the same GPE event.
